Excellence in Adult Learning
In October 2004, St. Christopher House was one of two organizations in Canada selected by Human Resources and Social Development for a three-year pilot project funding to develop a replicable life-long learning model that is participant-centred and supports individuals with low literacy skills and/or low income, and/or experiencing multiple barriers with different learning/training needs. St. Christopher House was selected by the Canadian Council on Learning as a model of excellence in adult learning and was awarded the “Sharing the Flame: Excellence in Adult Learning” at the joint national conference of the Conference Board of Canada and Canadian Council on Learning June 12, 2007.
