Clear Lanaguage and Design
At St. Christopher House, we believe that Clear Language and Design is a matter of social justice. Many people are excluded from using printed text because of the way it is written or laid out.
Clear Language and Design is sometimes referred to as Plain Language. It is a way of creating documents that communicate clearly.

Literacies has several articles about the importance of Clear Language and Design.
Literacies journalEast End Literacy provides a Clear Language and Design Service to support their literacy work.
East End LiteracyThe National Literacy and Health Program promotes awareness among health professionals of the relationship between literacy and health. Plain Language is an important part of their work.
National Literacy and Health ProgramThe Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) also emphasises the importance of Clear Language.
