This is an online newspaper designed for literacy learners. There are lots of things to read and activities. - BBC Webwise
There are lots of activities for learning how to use the computer and the internet. The Computer Tutor will show you how to use a computer. It's a bit long but there are lots of fun games to practice your new skills. - Mouse Exercises
If you are new to using a mouse, this site will give you lots of practise. Double-clicking can be hard until you get the hang of it. - Learning Styles
There are some online learning styles assessments. These would be helpful for higher level learners. Learners and tutors can work together on these. - Learn to Learn
A great Australian site that provides activities, hints, tips and strategies to help you reach your goals. - BBC Computer Tutor
Computer Tutor 1 is a fun way to learn computer basics such as using a mouse, using a keyboard, using a computer screen etc. Computer Tutor 2 is more advanced (email, internet etc.)

These are online courses from Florida Technet for Adult Basic Education tutors/teachers. - GED and Pre-GED Lesson Plans
Florida Technet has lots of lesson plans for GED and pre-GED learners. The lessons are designed for classroom but many can be adapted to one-to-one and small group tutoring. Florida Technet also has ABE (Adult Basic Education) materials but these don't seem to be as helpful as the pre-GED materials. - AlphaPlus - Main Page

Community Literacy of Ontario (CLO) is a provincial literacy network of community-based literacy agencies in Ontario. - National Literacy Secretariat
NLS is a branch of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. Their mission is to "ensure that Canadians have opportunities to develop and improve the ever-expanding literacy skills needed to function at work, at home and in the community, and to support the development and dissemination of information on literacy issues to increase awareness and understanding." - Metro Toronto Movement for Literacy
MTML or the Metro Toronto Movement for Literacy is a network of people and programs involved in literacy work. They operate the Literacy Access Network (LAN) a telephone referral system for learners and tutors.
