The Immigrant and Refugee Services of St. Christopher House provides information and
support to help newcomers develop the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in society
individually and as community members.

We are committed to access and
equity and offer services for clients facing multiple and/or systemic barriers to accessing
social and economic opportunities. We also offer mobile services, enjoy a wide range
of partnerships, and understand the importance of tailoring settlement support to  individual and family needs.

Our programs include assistance to both adult newcomers and newcomer youth in areas such as language improvement, education, employment, the immigration process and social networking.

Founded in June 2008 with assistance from Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the Newcomer Youth Program supports immigrant and refugee youth between the age of 13-24, through
group activities, mentorships, capacity building, leadership training and much more.

For more information please visit our "Services for Newcomer Youth" Section.

In addition, staff in our Newcomer Settlement Program and Newcomer Settlement Outreach Project assist newcomer youth and newcomer adults with:

  • Immigration/refugee issues
  • Accessing English as a second language classes
  • Finding housing
  • Accessing healthcare
