Volunteering at Bang The Drum
Just like St. Christopher House, much of our work would not be possible without the dedication, time and commitment of our volunteers. There are nearly sixty volunteers in the Bang The Drum program.
There are two kinds of volunteer placements:
1. Computer Tutor
There are three levels of computer lessons: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. The volunteers who have good computer knowledge and good communication skills in English are qualified for this position.
2. Site Supervisor/Technical Support
There are ten Bang The Drum sites in west downtown, Toronto. Most of the sites provide drop-in services. The site supervisor will provide one on one support: Hardware/Software installation, trouble shooting, answering questions, supervising drop in community members. The candidates should have some basic knowledgeof network and computer systems as well as good communication skills.
