Spring 2013 Registration Information for returning students  for individual lessons

The Spring term starts March 18 and runs for 12 weeks.  

Returning students have until Wednesday, March 6, 2013 to confirm spring participation.  All outstanding fees must be paid.  All fees are paid through the receptionist who will issue a receipt upon payment.  We make every effort to meet requests but cannot guarantee the time/teacher preferred.  Please do not notify your teacher.  All scheduling is done through the Music School Coordinator.  Partial payment is required at registration.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION for Spring, 2013  for individual lessons only 

Thursday, March 9 from 4:00-7:00

New student registration must take place in person, at 248 Ossington Ave., during the above times.  If these are not convenient, please notify Sherry to set up an alternative appointment.   The Music School is open from Tuesday to Saturday but we do not offer every instrument on every day.  We make every effort to meet each request but we cannot guarantee a specific lesson day/time/ teacher.  Spaces depend on what's available after the returning students have confirmed.  If applying for subsidy, please bring a copy of proof of income when you register.  Partial payment is required at registration.

GROUP LESSON REGISTRATION

After School Opera Program is held on Wednesdays 4:00-6:00 spring term starting April 10, 2013.   Registration for the spring session will start Monday, March 4.  Registration forms are available through the receptionist or may be downloaded from the web site at www.coc.ca  Registration fee of $15 per child is paid through the receptionist who will issue a receipt upon payment.  Bursary available.  Bursary application may be downloaded from the COC web site.  The winter session starts April 10, 2013.

Common Thread Kids rehearsals are Monday 4:30-6:00, in the Community Hall.  We welcome new singers aged 7-13 to the spring term.   First rehearsal is March 18.  No audition.  $1.00-$5.00 sliding scale subsidy per week.  Registration starts March 4.  To register, please contact Sherry (see below)

Toronto Song Lovers welcome new singers at our first rehearsal on March 20, 2013,  from 7:00-8:45.  All are welcome!  Ages 14+.  No audition.

Suite Life Arts for Youth- auditions were held in early October.  The program is now full.  You may  contact Denese Matthews for further information at 416-691-3269.  For youth 13-21.  Free.  They will perform at St. Christopher House 248 Ossington Ave. on Saturday, March 9 at 2:00.  Children welcome.  Pay What You Can.

All classes take place at 248 Ossington Ave. at Dundas St.

Additional Registration Information

 

For returning students:

  • We prefer if ALL FEES for the term should be paid at registration (before classes start).  But at least half the term should be paid before the term begins.  The other half is to be paid by mid-term.  An alternative payment plan can be worked out with the Coordinator at time of registration.
  • Returning students may register by mail, hand delivery, email or in person.  No registrations will be accepted over the phone.  All students must complete and sign a registration form for the Music School. 
  • If you want to reapply or apply for subsidy, you must provide a copy of your proof of income with the completed registration form.  You also must provide a copy of your proof of address.
  •  Please make cheques payable to St. Christopher House.
  • All payments are made through the reception at 248 Ossington.  They accept cheques and cash (please have the correct change) and will issue a receipt at time of payment.  They do not know the amount paid nor the amount owed.  This is confidential between the family and the Music School office.
  • The Music School office does not take unscheduled appointments.  Please call ahead.
  •  You must send in your completed forms, partial payment and other documents by the deadline in order to confirm your lesson space.  If the office doesn't receive the proper completed forms by the deadline your space will be given to a new student.

Registration for new students:

  • At registration, you will fill out and sign a Music School registration form. 
  • If you wish to apply for financial assistance (subsidy) you must bring a copy of proof of income for the entire household. (see Financial assistance)   Proof of income could be a T4 slip, a copy of a cheque stub.   You must also provide a copy of your proof of address.
  • Lesson time and date will be mutually decided at registration with the Coordinator.
  • Partial fees must be paid at registration.  The full fee should be paid by the middle of the term. An alternative payment plan can be worked out with the Coordinator at time of registration.
  • If you cannot make the set registration times, please notify the Coordinator to set up an alternative appointment. 
  • Please note that returning students get first choice of lessons.  Whatever spaces remain will be given to new students.  We cannot guarantee spaces for all requests but we make every attempt to accommodate everyone.
