Introduction
The After School Program provides comprehensive social, recreational and educational activities throughout the school year for children between the ages of 6 and 12. The program runs Monday to Friday from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. in 3 locations; 248 Ossington Ave., St. Lukes Catholic School, and Holy Family Elementary School in Parkdale. The program also operates full days on Professional Activity Days. Currently there are 80 children registered per day. Activities have included: Sports Club, with an emphasis on skill development, cooking, Healthy Lifestyles Club, Poetry Club, Mad Science Club, Peer Conflict Mediation Training, Around the World Club, Who Wants to be a Math Whiz Club, Drama Club, arts and crafts, knitting, sewing, Novel Study Club and outings or trips on Professional Activity Days to a variety of locations such as bowling, skiing, skating and the Science Centre to name a few. A number of children who participated in the After School Program also take part in the Music School Program where they benefit from one-to-one music instruction.
