Members from the Youth Advisory Committee and the Parent Advisory Network as well as area residents and other service providers plan the activities for Drug Awareness Week each year.  The committee plans a variety of activities to reach out to various age groups, income levels, general public and businesses.  The goal of this program is to educate youth about the danger of drugs and alcohol and provide them with strategies to avoid becoming involved with alcohol and other drugs.

Drug Awareness Week 2009 took place from February 17 - 19 at Parkdale Collegiate Institute.  The three days included workshops about drug prevention and harm reduction as well as interactive diplays and visits from the Ontario Provincial Police Department.
