Winter 09 Registration Information

Winter term 2009

Winter term starts Monday, January 12, 2009 and runs for 8 weeks.  Lessons take place Tuesday to Saturday.  Registration takes place in the Music School office at 248 Ossington Ave and is done through Sherry Squires, Music School coordinator.

We assume that current students will continue their lessons for another term.  The office must be notified if a student is NOT continuing for another term. 

For current students there is no registration process and the only thing needed to be done is to pay for the winter term (through reception) preferably by the first week of term.

Registration for NEW students for the winter term is:

Wednesday, January 7 from 6:00-7:30

Thursday, January 8 from 6:00-7:30

Saturday, January 10 from 2:00-3:30

The After School Opera Program will begin January 14 (from 4:00-6:00).  Spaces are still available.  If you have questions, want more information, or wish to sign your child up, please contact Sherry Squires at 416-532-4828 x127 or email sherrysq@stchrishouse.org

Our children's choir will disband for the winter term and hopefully will start up for the spring term depending on the amount of interest.

The  Toronto Song Lovers rehearsal (adult choir) will be starting back on Wednesday, January 14th from 7:00-8:45 p.m. in the Community Hall.  The choir will be accepting new people at this time.

 

Additional Registration Information

Registration for returning students:

  • ALL FEES for the term should be paid at registration (before classes start).  But at least half the term must be paid before the term begins.  The other half is to be paid at mid-term.  An alternative payment plan can be worked out with the Coordinator at time of registration.
  • Returning students who receive subsidy must provide proof of income and a completed financial assessment form if you wish to continue receiving assistance.  No assistance can be given without documents. (see Financial assistance).
  •  Please make cheques payable to St. Christopher House.
  • All payments are made through the reception at 248 Ossington.  They accept cheques and cash (please have the correct change) and will issue a receipt.
  • The Music School office does not take unscheduled appointments.  Please call ahead.

Registration for new students:

  • You will fill out a short registration form with basic contact information. 
  • If you wish to apply for financial assistance (subsidy) you must bring proof of income. (see Financial assistance) and fill out a financial assessment form.  Subsidy cannot be granted without these two things.  Proof of income could be a T4 slip, a copy of a cheque stub. 
  • Lesson time and date will be mutually decided at registration with the Coordinator.

  • If you cannot make the set registration times, please notify the Coordinator to set up an alternative appointment. 
  • Please note that returning students get first choice of lessons.  Whatever spaces remain will be given to new students.  We cannot guarantee spaces for all requests but we make every attempt to accommodate everyone.
