The Music School offers individual classes in piano, guitar, accordion, bass guitar, violin, voice and MIDI recording and composing using a computer. We also offer group classes in music theory and harmony (minimum of three students).  We have 13 professional teachers on staff.  Our adult community choir, the Toronto Song Lovers, is a special place for anyone who loves to sing and be part of the spirit of music making.  We also offer a children's choir for ages 7-12.  We make every attempt to satisfy specific needs, instruments or musical styles.  Students of all ages are welcome to enrol.

The Music School is open Monday to Saturday.  Lessons on some instruments are only available on certain days.  Lessons are generally one half hour per week but longer lessons are also available. Students are expected to practise every day and to be on time for their lessons.   Students sign up for at least one term (a person cannot sign up for a couple of lessons).   At least half of the term's fees must be paid for before classes start with the other half to be paid by mid term.  All classes are held at 248 Ossington Ave.

New students must fill out a registration form and, if applying for subsidy, provide proof of income and fill out a financial assessment form.  Every effort is made to meet requests for day and time but we make no guarantees.  Most of the lessons take place between 3:00-8:30 weekdays and 9:00-4:30 on Saturdays.  For more information, please see Registration/Financial Assistance.

We are looking for children ages 7-12 to join our new Children's Choir.  No experience is necessary and there is no audition!

Rehearsals will be on Tuesday from 4:30-5:30 starting September 16th, 2008.  There is a small cost for this on a sliding scale.  If you are interested, please contact Sherry Squires, Music School Coordinator at 416-532-4828 x127 or email sherrysq@stchrishouse.org
