Mary Poutsoungas was born in Toronto, Ontario and has been playing the Piano, accordion and guitar for more than 70 years.   Mary has been teaching at St. Christopher House Music School since 1961 which makes her St. Chris' longest running music school teacher.

Mary's favourite musical genre is classical and she enjoys overtures by Rossini and Mendelssohn and enjoys the music of 'Daddy of the Accordion' Pietro Deiro, in particular his Concerto in A.

When asked how music has affected her life Mary says that "music became my live and to me it is not work."

She really enjoys working with new students on various projects and counts Charles Magnante and Galla Rini as her greatest influences over the years.  When asked to become  a teacher at St. Chris Music School she immediately accepted and has enjoyed every minute since.
