Rimma Skeini was born in 1975 in Moscow, Russia.  She attended a 7 year music program in Moscow at the Music School #15 for Gifted Children from 1984 to 1992 and graduated with a red diploma with the highest grades in all subjects: Piano, Music Theory, Music Literature, Conducting and Choir.  In 1992 she moved to Toronto with her family.  In 1998, she earned her Honours Bachelor of Music Theory degree from the University of Toronto and in 2001, completed course work for the Master of Musicology program.

Rimma has taught pianoand music theory since 1994 and has accompanied choirs and individual performers.  She has been teaching at St. Christopher House since 1999.  One of her most favourite composers of piano literature is Chopin.  She gave a concert in 2006 on a private cruise ship, the World.  Recently she has been taking private jazz lessons as she enjoys being able to improvise.
