Income Security Reform Projects
St. Christopher House has worked with the community to address inadequate income at many levels. We work to:
a) create new income sources or lower living expenses by facilitating buyers, sellers and producers of goods and services within our community to connect in new and/or economically sustainable ways.
b) educate and advocate with community members to understand and access their waged and public benefits they are entitled too
c) by challenging and developing alternatives to programs, policies and services that discriminate or fail to provide the resources people need to secure a decent quality of life for themselves and their families.
Over the last few years a major focus of our work in adressing indaquate income has been
our Community Undertaking Social Policy (CUSP) project,
our Income Security Strategies for Working Age Adults project,
our Modernizing Income Security for Working Age Adults project,
and our Learn$ave project.
