Shelley Gronski I would like to provide you with some context as to how we are going to get the most out of the next two days. The facilitation team and the working group have been busy working and planning for this event over the last few weeks. Environment What were your first impressions of this place?
This place is different with a purpose. This process
has been evolving over the last 25 years. Matt and Gail Taylor initiated this process. Matt was an architect frustrated at how difficult it was to get everyone on a complex project (building a skyscraper) working together. He designed a place and methodology where people were inspired to do great things, that we use this with our clients. We hold from one to four day sessions and have fun doing it. One of the key things is the environment it is open and flexible. There are tools and technology in the space. The hypertile is your ticket to capture. Our
facilitation team is compiling a website as a capture for the information
being produced. The process is different from usual workshops. We break it down into scan, focus and act. Scan What info do you need to make informed decisions? We
need everyone to work from the same fact base. Focus It is about testing and building models. Act This is the time for decision making. At the end of
the day, we need to create what is listed in the objectives. We are probably not going to make any decisions until tomorrow. Today is about exploring and learning about St. Christopher House. We are constantly building the solutions and looking
at it from different vantage points. Parallel processing is another key issue. We take a challenge and break it up into different focus areas. Not everyone is doing the same work. The flexibility of this space should really enable you. We want to make your life easy when you are here. Our
facilitation team will capture and document your work, thought for
thought. This will be compiled into a website. We want you to focus on your work and we will worry
about the timing. If you need anything, please ask. We do not want
anything to distract you from your work.

Axioms Discovering you don’t know something is the first
step in knowing it. Everything that someone tells you is true, they are telling you their state of reality. To argue with someone else’s experience is a waste of time. To add someone's experience to you own experience is potentially valuable.
