Application Process
To become a volunteer at St Christopher House, please follow these directions:
1.Please read carefully through the different position descriptions on this website. You will find our different volunteer opportunities under “Current Volunteer Opportunities”.
2.If you are interested and believe that you meet the qualifications for one of the positions under “Current Volunteer Opportunities”, then please download the application form onto your hard drive. Once you have filled out the form, email it to fernandolu@stchrishouse.org . Someone will be in contact with you in the next few days about next steps.
3.After someone has contacted you and it seems like volunteering at St Chris is a good fit, then you will be invited to either participate in one of our Volunteer Information Sessions or meet with the Volunteer Coordinator.
4.After this meeting, you will be asked to provide two references and depending on the position description, you will be asked to fill out a police reference check form. The reference and police check are an important part of our screening process, to ensure safety for our community members. Please note – this process can take up to 6 weeks before you can start volunteering. Once the reference and police check are successfully completed, your application will be passed on to the program and you will be able to start volunteering!
5.The available volunteer opportunities at St Christopher House changes monthly, so please feel free to check the website often.
