"I have been volunteering at St Christopher House for 8 years. I first began volunteering with the friendly visiting program, which I enjoyed very much. About 6 years ago, I began volunteering as a bicyclist for the meals on wheels program. I currently volunteer year round as a cyclist, runner and driver.
The time I spend volunteering with meals on wheels is extremely rewarding to me and I enjoy spending time with the clients and getting to know the other volunteers in the program."

"I have been volunteering with Meals on Wheels for seven years. I began with the Meals on Two Wheels bicycling program the first year it was started. I then continued as a runner in the winter time but my heart belongs to the bicycling program. Every summer I look forward to delivering the meals on my bike. I enjoy seeing the clients that I have gotten to know over the years and it makes me happy to see that something as simple as delivering a meal can mean so much to someone who is homebound and in need of the service. I also enjoy meeting new volunteers and teaching the bike safety introduction with my friend, Darlene. Between the two of us we have accumulated a great number of funny stories and touching meals on wheels moments that we are glad to share with incoming volunteers. Meals on Wheels is a great program and I am happy to be a part of it. I look forward to many more years of volunteering with Meals on Wheels".
