You too can volunteer!
Corporate and Episodic Volunteering:
St Christopher House welcomes many school groups and corporations to volunteer for a short time, whether it’s an afternoon, a day or a few days. This experience of volunteering as a group is very rewarding, as individuals leave their day-to-day lives to experience something different and to make a positive impact in their community. We have welcomed many different groups to volunteering at St Chris, including:
-Vanderbilt University in Georgia
-various corporations and donors via the United Way Days of Caring
-Proctor and Gamble Corporation
-Cityview Alternative Public School
If you are interested in bringing your school or corporate group to St Christopher House, please contact our Volunteer Program at (416) 532-4828 ext. 105.
Family Volunteering:
Volunteering can be an excellent way for you to share different experiences with your family and make a difference in your community. Family volunteering enables parents, grandparents, children, and extended family members to give their time to worthwhile activities while being together. If you and your family are interested in the possibility of volunteering at St Chris, don’t hesitate to call our Volunteer Program at (416) 532-4828 ext. 105.
Youth Volunteering:
Volunteering at a young age can be an excellent opportunity for youth to learn new skills and develop knowledge that will stay with them for their whole life! We believe that youth, with their energy and ideas, can bring a fresh perspective to the agency that helps to build community. Through the Youth Zone program, youth can develop their leadership capacity as well as work towards completing their 40 hours through volunteering at St Christopher House! For more information, contact our Volunteer Program at ph. 416-532-4828 ext. 105.
Older Adult Volunteering:
You may have retired from your job, but this doesn’t mean you are retired from your life! At St Chris, you can find a wealth of opportunities to spend quality time doing meaningful volunteer work and making a difference. We welcome the diverse skills and experiences that older adults bring to volunteering. Not only will you be able to do meaningful work, but through volunteering, you will also have opportunities to meet others and make new friends.
Ontario Works Community Placements:
St. Christopher House welcomes volunteers who are also recipients of Ontario Works and we have worked with many Community Placements successfully. We will treat you with the same respect as we treat all volunteers. We do provide letters to you, not to Ontario Works directly, confirming that you are a volunteer with us but we do not record your hours for Community Placement purposes.
