Before you start volunteering with us, we ask you to please think carefully about the commitment you are making. We ask all of our volunteers to follow the guidelines:

• Please familiarize yourself with the mission, goals, policies and procedures of St. Christopher House in general, and your program area in particular.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask your program coordinator, or the volunteer coordinator.
• Please be punctual and regular in attendance.  People who depend on you will miss you.  Please call us if you are going to be absent so that we can make alternate arrangements.  Three days notice is the best practise.
• Please consider as confidential all information received about St. Christopher House clients, staff and other volunteers.  You may be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement, which must be honoured to protect the privacy of our clients.
•  Please be sensitive to others, in a non-judgemental and non-discriminating manner.
