Introduction
St. Christopher House is a registered charity providing neighbourhood community services in downtown Toronto's west end. We're a multi-service agency with no religious affiliation, supporting less-advantaged individuals, families and groups to gain greater control of their lives and within their community.
St. Christopher House adheres to federal Income Tax regulations as administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Every donation benefits our cause directly. We issue official tax receipts for donations that meet the regulations set out by the CRA.
Each charity is allowed the option to set a minimum amount below which it will not provide an official tax receipt and we have chosen to issue receipts for all eligible donations. We subscribe to the Ethical Code for Fundraising and Accountability maintained by Imagine Canada and we have a donor bill of rights.
The St. Christopher House Community Endowment was established to sustain funding for innovative programs of St. Christopher House not normally supported by government funding. Most donations and gifts given to the Community Endowment are given as enduring property and the income from this investment of this capital is used to support activities of St. Christopher House.
