WHAT IS ST. CHRISTOPHER HOUSE TRANSPORTATION ?
Transportation is a critical factor for independent community living. In partnership with Toronto Ride, St. Christopher House's Transportation program offers independence, assistance and choice. Our program provides quality, personalized, responsive and affordable services. St. Christopher House Transportation provides a door-to-door, individualized service to meet special needs. Our drivers, both volunteer and staff, are carefully selected, trained and supervised. St. Christopher House seeks to respond to your needs.
WHEN IS TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE ?
Rides are available Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.
WHERE CAN YOU GO ?
St. Christopher House's Transportation Service provides accessibility and participation in the regular activities of daily living, essential to physical and emotional well being.
St. Christopher House's Transportation Service can take you to:
- Medical appointments
- Rehabilitation programs
- Grocery shopping
- St. Christopher House Programs
- Visit a friend/social activities
WHO'S ELIGIBLE ?
Seniors or adults with disabilities:
- Who cannot access public transportation
- Who are not able to afford private transport
- Who are not able to enter/exit our vehicles with limited assistance
We regret that this service is not available to those who require lifting and cannot transfer independently from a wheelchair.
WHAT IS THE SERVICE COST ?

| Up to 5 km | $4.50 each way |
| More than 5 km - 10 km | $7.50 each way |
| More than 10 km - 15 km | $11.00 each way |
| More than 15 km | $13.00 each way |
| Group Rides | $1.50 each way |
HOW DO I REQUEST A RIDE ?
To request a ride, call St. Christopher House at (416)532-4828 and ask for Client and Family Services intake or if you are already a client call the Transportation Department at (416) 532-4828 - Ext. 176 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
After business hours, please leave a voice-mail message. The Transportation Department will return your call on the next business day. Requests must be made one week in advance. Your ride will be confirmed the morning prior to your appointment.
WHEN YOU CALL PLEASE PROVIDE US WITH:
- Your name & phone number
- The date, time, name, address & phone number of the appointment
PLEASE TELL US IF YOU:
- Need assistance entering or exiting a vehicle
- Need an escort
- Have a medical condition, e.g. epilepsy
If you need to cancel your ride, you must provide St. Christopher House with 24 hours notice. If not, we regret that you will be charged for the cost of the ride.
