The Meals on Wheels program at St. Christopher House was started in 1965 and continues to serve the south west of Toronto for 40 years.  Currently the program offers three types of meals (hot traditional Western/European style meal, hot Chinese meals and frozen meals) to our clients in a year-round, 7 days-week, 365 days-a-year meal delivery operation, including all statutory holidays.

Over 140 meals are delivered daily by volunteers who are essential components of this program.  St. Christopher House depends on the generousity of volunteers to be able to provide this essential service to countless isolated seniors in our community.

In fact, for many clients who live alone and isolated, Meals on Wheels provides an alternative to institutional care.  It is our goal, in co-operation with other community services and volunteers, to help clients remain independently in their own homes for as long as possible.

Our Catchment area is Yonge St. to Jameson/Lansdowne and College St. to the Lake.

A fee will be charged to the client. Subsidised fee scale is also available for those who have financial difficulties to pay. Financial assessment is required for subsidy.
