Hats In Parkdale
Seniors and youth l develop and deliver theatre performances on seniors' and youth health and well-being (i.e. substance abuse, chronic disease prevention, problem gambling and street safety). The plays created during the project are showcased at the of the Summer, making them available to people outside the community. This project fosters healthy intergenerational communication by creating opportunities for seniors and youth to share their life experiences, wisdom and knowledge. It also helps reduce social isolation of seniors from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds in the Parkdale area.
This project "HATS in Parkdale" is collaboration between St. Chris Older Adult Centre - Seniors Community Development , St. Chris Children and Youth - Parkdale Focus and the Toronto Housing Company - Seniors Division.
